Atılım University Model United Nations 2026 (ATUMUN’26) – Code of Conduct
1. Language
The official language of ATUMUN’26 is English. Usage of any other languages is strictly prohibited.
2. Dress Code
Participants are expected to follow the official dress code of ATUMUN’26, which is Western Business Attire. Casual clothes and any other informal clothing are out of order.
3. Allocations
Whether the participants choose their committee preferences, all the allocations will be finally decided by the Secretariat.
4. Attendance
If a delegate does not attend more than two sessions without informing the chairboard or secretariat, the delegate will not be eligible to receive a participation certificate and any awards.
5. Cancellation
If any members may not attend all sessions of the conference, the Secretariat should be informed immediately. The cancellation of participants without informing the Secretariat will be punished.
6. Misconduct And Disciplinary Action
6.1 Prohibition
· All disrespectful behavior towards any participants or the Academic and Organization Teams of ATUMUN’26 is strictly prohibited.
· Any form of malicious behavior done by delegates during the sessions will result in expulsion and blacklisting from any future conferences.
· Consumption of alcoholic beverages and drugs by any participants is strictly forbidden.
· All the actions of plagiarism and unethical usage of Artificial Intelligence are strictly forbidden. All the documents will be checked to determine any plagiarized phrases. If the delegates do not give a reference to the phrase they plagiarized, they will be punished by the Secretariat.
6.2 Diplomatic Interaction
Delegates must always remain in character during sessions. Disagreements must remain strictly policy-oriented. Personal attacks, mockery, or aggressive behavior will result in severe consequences.
6.3 Punctuality: Time is the only "currency" in this conference. Arriving late to committee sessions is a sign of disrespect to the Chairs and fellow delegates. Persistent tardiness will lead to the forfeiture of certification.
6.4 Originality: All working papers and draft resolutions must be the product of active collaboration during the committee sessions, not prepared beforehand.
6.5 Cyber-Bullying: The Code of Conduct extends to digital platforms (WhatsApp groups, and the like). Hostile behavior online is treated with the same severity as physical misconduct.
6.6 Delegates must:
-Respect all university property and equipment.
-Ensure committee rooms are left clean after every session.
-Vandalism or theft will result in immediate expulsion and potential legal/disciplinary report to the participant's home institution.
-Delegates will be responsible for all damages done to the university properties
6.7 Sexual harassment and discrimination based on race, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, religion, age, or disability are not acceptable. Such acts are incompatible with ATUMUN’s educational mission and are a violation of our Conduct Expectations. General descriptions of behavior that may be considered sexual harassment can be found in the UN’s Code of Conduct.
7. Photography and Social Media Consent: By registering for MUN, delegates consent to being photographed by MUN staff for future promotional materials. If a delegate wishes not to be photographed, they must inform the Director of Media. The photos taken during the conference will be used on the university’s and the conference's Instagram and other social media accounts, along with Atılım University’s website.
8. Usage of Electronic Devices: All cell phones should be silenced before sessions begin. Devices may be used outside the committee room with the discretion of the chairboard or the secretariat during sessions.
9. Obligation Related to Delegation: In order to apply as a delegation, at least one advisor or head delegate is required to attend the conference.
