Agenda Item: Promoting the Equal Inclusion of Gen Z in National Politics and Electoral Processes
The Social, Humanitarian & Cultural Committee is the 3rd Committee of the United Nations General Assembly, and it discusses matters concerning human rights, including issues related to youth. As the uprising generation, Gen Z takes up a significant portion of the population and is mostly quite invested in national politics and elections. However, many young people, despite being legally able to vote, face issues with finding proper representation and being fairly included in national politics and electoral processes. With this agenda item, the SOCHUM Committee aims to focus on finding ways to improve the state of Gen Z inclusion in national politics and electoral processes in order to increase the participation and control Gen Z has over their futures.

The United States Senate is the upper cabinet of the United States Congress, the legislative branch of the United States. The Senate consists of a hundred senators, two respective senators for every state; with 53 senators from the Republican Party, 45 senators from the Democratic Party, and 2 Independent senators. The Senate gathers to write and pass legislation upon the very critical matters of the United States. The agenda item, police brutality and accountability, presses on the excessive pressure caused on the American people, precisely people of color, by the law enforcement personnel. Qualified immunity serves as a direct basis for the issue, granting public officials the power to use exaggerated power “needed” for their duty. The case of George Floyd has sparked more concerns over this grant of power and the responsibility of police officers. In this committee, senators will be requested to address issues in their legislation upon the agenda item. The committee has a unique rules of procedure which will be published with the study guide.

Juan Peron's presidency marked a profound change in the Argentine status quo. His influence led to him being the center of political discourse: you were either a Peronist or you were against him. While his populist, nationalist, and progressive policies resulted in his nationwide idolisation, his authoritarian and undemocratic tendencies were criticised by his opponents. Nevertheless, his efforts to cement Argentine sovereignty and prosperity have been undeniable.

Alexander (the Great) went far and far, starting from Macedonia all the way to the Hellespont, Asia. Though over a hundred galleys of Macedonian soldiers were moved, Persia ignored the Macedonian army. In 334 BC, after Darius (Achaemenid King of Kings of Persia) ignoring Alexander for months, his commander Memnon of Rhodes decided to destroy the lands Alexander will be coming from, starving his army to death or return. Eventually, though, with his genius war strategies, Alexander approached Persia. Darius had to order all five satraps of the Anatolian provinces to wage war against Alexander.

Agenda Item: Establishing a Framework for the Prevention and Regulation of Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) Attacks
As Member States become increasingly reliant on digitized infrastructure and interconnected electrical grids, the potential for electromagnetic interference, whether through high-altitude nuclear detonations or non-nuclear directed energy, poses a significant challenge to international stability. This creates a responsibility for establishing a framework for the prevention and regulation of Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) attacks.
A single high altitude burst could send an entire nation back to the pre-industrial age in seconds. No power, no comms, no backup. The international community has a really vague definition of a "non-kinetic" strike that bears consequences for nations. Is an EMP an act of war, or a grey zone provocation?
