TED University Model United Nations Society - Code of Conduct for TEDUTRAIN’23
Article I.
Conference Purpose of the Conduct
Section 1.01
The primary purpose of this Code of Conduct is to establish guidelines for all participants, including delegates, head delegates, faculty, delegation leaders, guests, secretariat, staff, and board members, attending TEDUTRAIN’23. The conference aims to create an environment conducive to educational development and sociable interactions.
Section 1.02
Professionalism in speech, actions, and appearance is mandatory for all participants.
Section 1.03
TEDUMUN reserves the right to bar violators from further participation and may restrict future registration for individuals or schools failing to adhere to these guidelines.
Section 1.04
Respect for everyone is fundamental during the conference. Disruptive behavior in committees and other facilities, plagiarism, alcohol and drug usage, and non-compliance with dress code rules will not be tolerated.
Section 1.05
Participants under 18 are the responsibility of their observer or the person who signed The Receipt of Permission, and they must be informed to the TEDUTRAIN’23 Public Relations Team.
Article II.
Article 2: Delegates
Section 2.01
Delegates are required to demonstrate respect for their assigned country's policies and fellow delegates.
Section 2.02
Delegates must adhere to the principles of confidentiality and integrity in all communications and interactions within the conference.
Article III.
Academia
Section 3.01
A professional and diplomatic approach is mandatory for all academic interactions.
Section 3.02
Participation in committee sessions should be conducted confidentially.
Section 3.03
Attendance and active participation in academic team meetings are compulsory.
Article IV.
Guests and Observers
Section 4.01
Guests and observers are expected to adhere to the same rules as other conference participants.
Section 4.02
Guests and observers are not permitted to provide any support to a delegation or delegate
during the official sessions
. Guests can include school officials, teachers, or funders interested in learning about MUN.
Section 4.03
Guests and observers must respect the confidentiality of delegate discussions and shall not interfere with the committee proceedings.
Article V.
Sexual Harassment and Discrimination
Section 5.01
Any form of sexual harassment or discrimination based on gender, sexual orientation, national origin, religion, race, age, or disability is unacceptable.
Section 5.02
Offenders will be expelled from the conference, and legal actions may be pursued if deemed necessary.
Article VI.
Safety and Security
Section 6.01
Participants are personally responsible for their safety and security.
Section 6.02
Personal belongings should not be left unattended. TEDUTRAIN’23 is not liable for any loss or theft.
Section 6.03
Lunch tickets will be issued once; no replacements will be provided for lost tickets.
Section 6.04
Participants must wear badges at all times; a fee of one hundred (100) Turkish Liras will be charged for badge replacements.
Article VII.
Data Protection and Privacy
Section 7.01
TEDUTRAIN’23 will collect and process personal data of participants solely for the purposes of conference administration, communication, and event coordination.
Section 7.02
Participants have the right to access, rectify, or erase their personal data upon request, in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
Section 7.03
TEDUTRAIN’23 will take appropriate technical and organizational measures to safeguard personal data against unauthorized or unlawful processing and against accidental loss, destruction, or damage.
Section 7.04
Participants’ personal data will not be shared with third parties without explicit consent, except when required by law or for conference-related purposes.
Section 7.05
Participants are encouraged to report any data breaches or concerns regarding data protection to the designated Data Protection Officer.
Article VIII.
Intellectual Property Rights
Section 8.01
Participants shall respect intellectual property rights, including copyrights and trademarks, of TEDUTRAIN’23 and other participants.
Section 8.02
Participants must not reproduce, distribute, or publicly display any conference materials without proper authorization.
Section 8.03
Participants shall grant TEDUTRAIN’23 the right to use their names, likenesses, and presentations for promotional and educational purposes related to the conference.
Article IX.
Amendments and Interpretation
Section 9.01
TEDUTRAIN’23 reserves the right to amend this Code of Conduct as necessary. Participants will be notified of any changes.
Section 9.02
Any disputes arising from the interpretation or application of this Code of Conduct shall be resolved by the TEDUTRAIN’23 Secretariat, whose decision shall be final and binding.
Article X.
Acceptance of the Code of Conduct
Section 10.01
By participating in TEDUTRAIN’23, all attendees agree to abide by this Code of Conduct and any subsequent amendments.
Section 10.02
Failure to comply with this Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary actions, including expulsion from the conference and legal consequences, as applicable under Turkish law.
