Topic: Legalization of Euthanasia

The World Health Organization has increased its prevalence in the world, especially after the pandemic we have experienced. The topics of WHO not only cover transmittable diseases and vaccination; but also the prevention of said situations. Furthermore, with our agenda item, we will be going one step further, to discuss and find solutions to the cases related to euthanasia. The debates on euthanasia have been going on and on over the decades, and people are yet to find a bona fide common ground on the subject. Within the past debates and with the actions of the many political actors interested in the case, the debates had been agreed to be talked upon in the future. The future is now, as the delegates of this committee will tackle the issue at hand properly, so that in the cases related to euthanasia, there will finally be an agreement reached upon, to ensure the highest possible level of health, even in death.

Topic: Nato's Indo-Pacific Involvement With Regard to the 2022 Strategic Concept

The North Atlantic Treaty Organization is an intergovernmental military alliance between 30 North American and European countries. The organization implements the North Atlantic Treaty that was signed in 1949. NATO creates a collective defense system in which its member states agree to mutual defense in response to an attack by any external party.

In the coming decades, NATO could face systemic threats from authoritarian powers that must be addressed with a full-scale approach on the Euro-Atlantic borders and beyond. The challenges posed by China to Euro-Atlantic security will remain a matter of attention. The Indo-Pacific landscape is likely to convert into a Chinese attempt to federate or potentially constrain split countries through economic, diplomatic, cultural, and military levers putting at risk the rule of law, international order, maritime freedom, and territorial integrity. The increasing militarization of the area is the main concern for the Alliance as it makes direct confrontation with possible economic and geopolitical consequences. Thus, the Alliance needs to improve its understanding of the entire region regarding China’s strategic influence therein, and the various dynamics at play.

Topic: Achieving Sustainable Development Goals 8 and 9

UNDP is based on the merging of the United Nations Expanded Programme of Technical Assistance, created in 1949, and the United Nations Special Fund, established in 1958. UNDP, as it is known now, was established in 1966 by the General Assembly of the United Nations. UNDP, as the United Nations lead agency on international development, works in 170 countries and territories to eradicate poverty and reduce inequality. UNDP assists the countries to develop policies, leadership skills, partnering abilities, institutional capabilities, and to build resilience to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), also known as the Global Goals, were adopted by the United Nations in 2015 as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure that by 2030 all people enjoy peace and prosperity. In TEDUTRAIN'22, delegates of the UNDP committee will be focusing on the Goals 8 and 9; Decent Work and Economic Growth; Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure.

Topic: Nuclear Disarmament, Promotion of Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, and Reducing Nuclear Danger

Disarmament and International Security (DISEC) is the first committee of the General Assembly, founded in 1945. Focuses on issues regarding international peace and security within the scope of the United Nations Charter. DISEC serves as a common basis that aims to promote and maintain international cooperation on the regulation of armaments, pursuits solutions to challenges to peace of the international community, and disarmament. All 193 members of United Nations are also the representatives that form the committee of DISEC and have equal vote.

Topic: Reconstructing and Reserving Cultural Heritages in Conflict Zones

UNESCO is the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization. The organization in its effort to contribute to the world peace and security, promotes international cooperation in education, sciences, culture, communication and information. UNESCO encourages knowledge sharing and the free flow of ideas to increase awareness, and mutual understanding of different cultures and lives. 

Cultural heritages deeply relate with the identity and the history of societies. All heritage elements contribute towards the uniformity of societies and brings about a possible process of learning from past in many different ways.

Topic: Invasion of Cyprus

After The 1974 coup d'état in Cyprus, the relationship between the island’s inhabitants was in rapid decline. In order to deal with the many crises that arise, the cabinets will try to overcome each other to ensure that they will stand victorious in the end of the war. Ranging from rigorous military actions to arduous diplomatic processes, the dynamic nature of the committee will help the cabinets explore many different courses of action. In the end, we will see who shall have the last saying on the lands of Cyprus.
